2 Day

Almaty grand tour + Central museum.

The tour starts with sightseeing in central part of Almaty. You will visit a the Green Bazaar. It is the great chance to experience an atmosphere of the real eastern market, its colors, smells and crowds. The tour will continue in one of the oldest Almaty parks - Panfilov Park, where one of the most beautiful wooden building in the world - Zenkov Cathedral is located. You will also visit the Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame, dedicated to the memory of the fighters who died for freedom and independence of the country.

You will get to the Medeo Gorge, well known due to the highest mountain skating rink in the world and the dam, protecting the city from dangerous mudflow. Next destination is the Kok-Tobe hill where the tallest TV tower in the world is located and where you will get by the picturesque winding mountain road. In KokTobe Park you can stroll along the winding paths of the park, admire the magnificent panorama of the city from the special observation deck and visit the shop of national souvenirs. The tour ends with the short ride from the top of the hill to the center of the city by the famous Almaty cableway. 19:00 dinner and transfer to the hotel Overnight at the hotel

3 Day

Almaty – Bishkek city tour KYRGYZSTAN

Today we will have a transfer to Bishkek city. Bishkek city is the capital and the largest city of Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek is situated at about 800 meters (2,600 ft) altitude near the northern range of the Kyrgyz Ala Too range. This range is an extension of the Tian Shan mountains, which rises up to 4,855 meters (15,928 ft) and provides a spectacular backdrop to the city. The distance from Almaty city to Bishkek is 230 km. It will take about 4 hours for the transfer. On the way you will pass a border control. The second half of the day is dedicated to a guided Bishkek City Tour. The tour includes visiting Pobeda Square (Victory Square), Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Сentral Ala-Too Square, the History Museum, National Philharmonic and many others places of interest. Traditional dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Overnight at the hotel.

4 Day

Bishkek – Issyk Kul Lake – Cholpon Ata 300 km

Your guide will pick you up at 8 a.m. Afterwards you will be transferred to Issyk Kul Lake. This time we will drive along the northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake. This is a great chance to see the whole lake from all sides. It is the biggest mountain lake in Central Asia and also the favorite place for swimming in summer time. People come to vacation at the lake from neighboring countries. In the afternoon you will visit a small local museum that has examples of handicrafts, musical instruments, and a lot of artifacts. Your dinner will be in a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.

5 Day

Cholpon Ata – Bishkek – airport 380 km UZBEKISTAN

In the morning you will be transferred to Bishkek city. On the way, we will make a short break to give you the opportunity to visit ancient stone inscriptions (dating back to 800 B.C.). Also you will visit Burana Tower (an 11th century minaret) and an open air museum of Balbans (stone warriors). Lunch. Transfer to airport. Departure flight to Tashkent. Arrival to Tashkent. Meet with the driver. Transfer to the hotel, check-in. Overnight in the hotel.

6 Day

10:00 City tour in Tashkent: Old part of the city: the religious complex Khasti Imam: consisting of Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum (XV centure), Barak Khan Madrassah (XVI centure), Muy-Mubarak Mosque – storehouse of the well-known Koran of Khalif Osman and gold hair of prophet Muhammad; Dzhuma-mosque of Khodja Akhrar Vali, Kukeldash Madrassah (XVI), Abdulkasim Madrassah (XIX). After lunch visiting modern part of Tashkent: The State Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan, visiting Independence Square, after continue to Navoi Theater square and Amir Timur Square. Overnight at the hotel.

7 Day

Tashkent – Oybek Border - Khudjant TAJIKISTAN

Breakfast at the hotel Transfer to Uzbek-Tajik border, pass the border and transfer to Khudjant city. Visit the Museum of Archeology and Fortification. Shaikh Muslihiddin Mosque, and the Payshanba Bazaar, the biggest bazaar in Tajikistan. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

8 Day

Khudjant – Istaravshan – Dushanbe 260 km

Breakfast at the hotel In the morning, depart Khudjant to Dushanbe via Istaravshan (260 km, 5-6 h.). Continue to Mug Teppe, one of the ancient settlements located in Istaravshan. In Istaravshan visit a local bazaar, Hazrat Shah architectural complex, which consists of Hazrat Shah Mausoleum, the grave of brother of Kusam ibn Abbas, Khudayar Valami Mausoleum, and Namazgah Mosque dating back to 19 C. The city is believed to be founded by King Cyrus in the North-East boundary of his empire. Arrival to Dushanbe. Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel Full day SS of: Tajikistan United Museum includes the exhibits on history, natural history and art, Buddha in Nirvana is one of the valuable exhibits of museum. (closed on Mondays). Botanical garden-very beautiful garden with many old trees is the favorite place of Tajiks. Bazaar- an oriental market is the most crowded place in the city Hissar fortress the remains of an 18th century fortress, occupied until 1924 is located in 30 km west of Dushanbe. Beside the fortress are two plain Madrassah, one dating from the 18th century and the other 19th, and beyond them is the mausoleum of 16th century. Overnight at the hotel

Dushanbe – Iskanderkul - Penjikent

Breakfast at the hotel Drive to Penjikent via Iskanderkul Lake, known as a lake of Alexander the Great which was established in 1969. The area of the lake is 30000 ha. According to the legend, the Iskanderkul Lake was named after Alexander the Great, known as Iskander in the East. People say that Alexander the Great’s path to Central Asia from India laid through this lake. Lunch at traditional homestay "Dilovar". Exploration the surroundings of the lake: five springs, Zmeinoe lake (Snake lake), walking to 38m high waterfall which is called “Fan Niagara“. Drive to Penjikent, accommodation to the Hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

11 Day

Penjikent – 7 Lakes - Penjikent

Breakfast at the hotel Drive to Seven Lakes (80 km). Sarazm - one of the ancient settlement in Central Asia with 5500 years civilization. In 2010 the Sarazm was added to the list of the Human heritage by UNESCO. Haf Kul - seven lakes of different colors in mountains of Tajikistan: 1. Mijgon, 2. Soya, 3. Hushyor, 4. Nophin lakes (2139m.a.l), Khurdak, 6.Marguzor, 7.Hazorchashma lakes (2400m a.s.l.). Picnic at the lake. Drive back to Penjikent (80 km). Overnight at the hotel.

Penjikent – Samarkand 120+60 km UZBEKISTAN

Breakfast at the hotel Trasnfer to Tajik-Uzbek border Jartepo. Pass the border and trasnfer to Samarkand. Arrival. Setlenent at the hotel and overnight at the hotel. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

09:00 city tour in Samarkand: Visit Gur Emir Mausoleum - Tamerlane’s Tomb (14-15th c.) – Guri Amir is Persian for “Tomb of the King” Continue to Registan square - Registan square heart of Samarkand. Registan Square is ornate portals, patterned minarets and glistening cupolas. Registan Square consist with three madrasahs: The Ulugh Beg Madrasah (1417–1420), the Tilya-Kori Madrasah (1646–1660) and the Sher-Dor Madrasah (1619–1636). All three madrasahs rife with glazed mosaics in liquid shades gold. Visit Bibi-Khanum Mosque and Siyab Bazaar– The Bibi Khanym complex in Samarkand was built in 1399–1405 with the spoils of Timur’s (Tamerlane’s) campaign in India. Bibi Khanym was named in homage to Timur’s senior wife, Sarai Mulk Khanym. Visit Islam Karimov memorial complex and continue to Architectural complex Shakhi-Zindeh (11-15th c.) – The necropolis of Shah-I Zindah (Persian for “living king”) is revered as a memorial to Kusam-ibn-Abbas, acousin of the Prophet Mohammad. Overnight at the hotel.

14 Day

Samarkand – Shakhrizabs – Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Bukhara via Shakhrisabz city (motherland of Great Amir Timur). City tour: Ruins of Ak-Saray Palace (XIV-XV), Dor-ut Saodat Complex: Khazratiy Imam Mosque (XIV), Jahongir Mausoleum (XIV), Dor-ut Tillavat Complex: Gumbazi-Seiidan, Kok Gumbaz Mosque (XV). Continue to Bukhara. Arrival in Bukhara and hotel accommodation. Overnight at the hotel.

City tour in Bukhara: Ismael Samani Mausoleum - the tomb of representatives of Samanids’ jeweler at the end of IX – beginning of X), Chashma Ayub Mausoleum (Spring of Job – XIV), Bolo-Hauz Mosque (beginning of XX), Citadel Ark (IV) – city in a city, Poi Kalon Ensemble (Pedestal of the Great), religious heart of Sacred Bukhara, consists of Minaret Kalon (XII), Kalyan Mosque (XII), Miri Arab Madrassah (XVI), Ulugbek’s Madrassah (1417), Magoki-Attori Mosque (dated XII-XVI centuries), Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble (dated XIV-XVII centuries), ChorMinor (four minarets). Free time: we advise you to visit Bukhara Dome Bazaars (dated 15-16 centuries): Toki Saraffon (the Dome of Moneychangers), Toki-Telpak Furushon (the Dome of Cap makers), Toki Zargaron (the Dome of Jewelers) and Tim Abdullakhan (the Center of silk). 16 Day

Bukhara – Khiva.

Breakfast at the hotel. Meet with the driver at the lobby of your hotel. Transfer to Khiva through the Kizil Kum desert (475 km). On the way stop to see Amudarya River. Arrival in Khiva in the evening, check-in the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

17 Day

09:00 City tour in Khiva: Ichan-Kala architectural complex (XII-XIX), the Residence of the last Khiva Khan including Ismail Khodja Mausoleum, Muhammed Amin Khan Madrassah, Kunya-Ark Castle (XVI-XVI), Kalta Minor Tower, Tash-Hovli Palace (XIX), Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum(XIV-XVIII), Juma Mosque (X) and other Khiva tourist sights. Narrow streets, carved “ayvans” veranda and doors, majestic minarets and mausoleums, heritage and arts –all kept with care in this city as great treasure. Overnight at the hotel.

18 Day

Khiva – Turkmen border – Darwaza (350 km) TURKMENISTAN

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning depart for Turkmen border post Shavat, cross the border (formalities) after all formalities drive to Ancient Kynya Urgench (UNESCO) for an excursion. Lunch in local restaurant. After lunch, drive to Darwaza gas crater in the Karakum desert. Arrival in Darwaza gaz crater before sunset (~1800h). BBQ dinner, discover the burning gas crater by nighttime. Overnight in tents near the crater.

19 Day

Darwaza – Ashgabat 280 km

In the morning, after breakfast, depart Darwaza gaz crater and drive to Ashgabat, visit mud and water craters on the way. Visit Sunday Market (if Thu, Sat or Sun). Then transfer to the hotel. After short rest have a city tour including visits of National museum, Neutrality Arch, Independence Park, Earthquake Memorial, Ertogrul Gazi Mosque. Transfer back to the hotel. Overnight

20 Day

Ashgabat – Nokhur – Ashgabat 320 km

After breakfast drive to Nissa (UNESCO) via Turkmenbashi Mosque-Mausoleum. Then drive onwards to Nokhur village via Geok Depe Mosque. Upon arrival in Nokhur explore the tribal cemetery and silk-weaving workshops. Then return to Ashgabat. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

21 Day

Ashgabat – Mary – Merv (UNESCO) – Mary – Ashgabat

After breakfast drive to Mary via Anau Mosque ruins and Abiverd town remains. Upon arrival in Mary, drive to Merw (UNESCO) for an excursion. Then return to Mary and transfer to the domestic airport for an departure flight to Ashgabat. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Cancellation policy

Payments & Cancellations

When you book a reservation for a Product through the Website, Steppe and Sky collects your payment information and processes your payment as described below under "Payment Processing". Steppe and Sky accepts the following credit cards: Mastercard, Visa, American Express. Also Steppe and Sky travel can issue invoices to your name.  Full payment by credit or debit card is required to make a reservation.

No refunds are available once a tour or service has commenced, or in respect of any package, accommodation, meals or any other services utilized.

If you wish to cancel a reservation made via the Website, the supplier's cancellation policy contained in the applicable product listing will apply to, and govern the terms of, your cancellation and any refunds. When canceling a booking, you will be notified via email the total refund amount you will receive, if any.

The standard cancellation policy for Customers is:

  1. a 90 % refund for cancellations made at least 15 days  in advance of the start date of the experience. (Except for the tours to Baikonur Cosmodrome, see point 5)
  2. a 60% refund for cancellations made later than at least 15 days in advance of the start date of experience. Unless the Customer could not inform the Steppe and Sky travel due to the force-majeure reasons.
  3. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the start date of the experience will receive no refund.
  4. In case of no-show the Customer will receive no refund.
  5. For the tours to Baikonur Cosmodrome the following penalties apply:

5.1 a 90% refund for cancellations made after the payment is made before the permission from Roscosmos State Corporation is received.

5.2. a 80% refund in case of cancellation of the tour after receiving permission to visit the Cosmodrome  Baikonur by Roscosmos , regardless of the time.

5.3. a 0% refund for cancellations made 14 days prior to the tour start.

5.4. a 80% refund in case when Roscosmos refuses the Customer  in permission to visit the spaceport (Cosmodrome Baikonur),

5.5. a 80% refund is applicable when Roscosmos either transfers or cancels the launch of the spacecraft, unless  the Customer chooses to use  the tour package of ‘between launches’ period, in this case the cost of the tour is recalculated and the difference is transferred to the account of the Customer.

The value of the transaction may be subject to taxes, duties, foreign transaction, currency exchange or other fees. Your bank or credit or debit card company may convert the payment into the local currency and charge fees, resulting in differences between the amount displayed on Steppe and Sky Travel and the final amount charged to your bank account or credit or debit card statement. Please contact your bank or card company if you have any questions concerning any applicable conversion or fees.
