There was an excellent variety of grapes grown in Samarkand, which was characterized by high sugar content - 25% in comparison with the world average 16%. The Russian winemaker and businessman D.M. Filatov, who had arrived here, opened the first winery in Uzbekistan. For 15 years of his work, he brought the plant to the world level - the extracted wine "Biishty" (which translates as "paradise") received a gold medal at the International Exhibition of Wines and Cognacs in Paris, after that collectors from all over the world began to come to Samarkand for this amazing wine. With the advent of Soviet power, Filatov was forced to leave the plant, but he managed to hide his best wines in a secret collection, which lay there for several decades until they were accidentally discovered during the reconstruction of the winery. The place of the head of the reconstructed plant was taken by the talented winemaker M.A. Khovrenko. He brought out new varieties of grapes, systematized wines and made a huge contribution to the development of winemaking in Uzbekistan. Today the Khovrenko winery continues its work and produces a variety of grape wines (dry, dessert, fortified), cognac, vodka and alcoholic beverages, wine materials, brandy alcohol. 17:00 transfer to the railway station.
